Wanavokali
Wanavokali, which translates to'Those with the vocals' in Swahili, is a collective of 6 Kenyan Performing Artists: Chep,Lenah,Mellah,Riki,Sam and Ythera who share a passion for expression through Music, Fashion and Art.
The group met at the 2018 Safaricom Twaweza Live Tour, as Background Vocalists, where they performed live music on stages across Kenya with some of the best musicians, producers and dancers that the country has to offer. Throughout the whole tour, they got to experience music, and especially Live Kenyan music in a personal and very unique light.
In July 2019, with their experience as Background Vocalists, amazing chemistry on and off stage, and the desire to create broader opportunities for themselves within the music industry, they formed the vocal collective Wanavokali.
