Ras Gumbo
Ras Gumbo - reggae artist based in Tanzania. His early interest in music was influenced by his father, a traditional African drummer and singer.
He started his education in Tanga, then moved to Dar Es Salaam. His obsession with reggae music and the songs of Alpha Blondy and Peter Tosh around this time meant regular entertainment for his classmates. He finished his secondary education in Dar Es Salaam.
In July 2015 he recorded his first track “Power”. In 2016 he released a second track “Thanks and Praises” and during 2017 another 8 tracks were recorded so that the album Daily Teaching was released in December 2017. His experience as a street vendor led to the writing of the stand out track from his first album “Corruption” with a hard-hitting message and an inspirational video.
